Abia State House of Assembly Passes Office of the Surveyor General Bill into Law.The Abia State House of Assembly has on February 23, 2021 passed HAB 32 – A Bill for a Law to Establish the Office of the Surveyor General of Abia State.
The Bill provides for the Establishment of the Office of the Surveyor General of Abia State as well as to make the office autonomous and grant it extra-ministerial status.The Bill also stipulates that the Surveyor General must come from the State or Federal Civil Service in a bid to protect the sanctity of the Civil Service.
The house under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji also adopted the recommendations of the reports of the Committees on: Report of the House Committee on Public Utilities on (H.A.B. 30), “The Abia State Water and Sewage Development Bill, 2020.
