The Acting Commissioner, Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. (Mrs.) Adebimpe Akinsola led other top ministry officials on a courtesy visit to Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) Headquarters and a working tour of the  (LCC) tourist facilities .

NCF Director General, Mr. Adeniyi Karunwi, received the Acting Commissioner and her team into LCC, the urban jungle in the heart of Lagos, a prime project of NCF. The DG conveyed the appreciation of the Board of Trustees, the National Executive Council (NEC) and Management of NCF to the Lagos State Government on the support being rendered to LCC, especially the provision of Canopy Walkway, development of Family Park facilities and the on-going construction of the 1.6 km-long access road to the Family Park.

He specifically expressed utmost appreciation to the Ag. Commissioner for the visit. He further briefed the Ag. Commissioner about NCF’s activities and the NCF/LASG relationship through the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture.

Mr. Adedayo Memudu, the Assistant Conservation Manager with NCF, conducted the team in an interpretative tour of the LCC Forest Reserve, an exploration of the longest Canopy Walkway in Africa and an assessment of other tourist facilities such as the Floor Games, Volleyball Court, Fish Ponds, Gazebos, Barbecue Stands and others. The Director General solicited for more support on the rehabilitation of the dilapidated infrastructure and facilities for LCC as a Heritage Site in Lagos State.

The tour of the facilities ended with the access road inspection. The team returned to LCC Rotunda where the Ag. Commissioner promised that the Ministry will get more involved at LCC to enhance the tourism potentials of the Centre and boost the tourism profile of Lagos State. The DG in his closing remarks extended an invitation to the Hon. Commissioner to attend the next NCF National Executive Council Meeting scheduled to hold on Thursday, 23rd March, 2017.
