Amid the lack of data and need for revival of projects, the President of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS), Mrs. Mercy Iyortyer has advocated a comprehensive audit of all abandoned projects  to guide a holistic programme by all tiers of government for their completion in the country.

Speaking this morning on NTA Good Morning Nigeria, Iyortyer said this became necessary so as to save the country from such monumental waste usually associated with abandonment of capital projects.
Dr Nazif Darma, a lecturer at the University of Abuja and former Director of National Planning Commission, also lending support to this call on the programme said such audit and completion programme for such projects would tally with the mantra of change of the current administration as it would spin off job opportunities for the teeming unemployed Nigerians in the country.

Dr Uzor Kalu, former Abia state Governor, also one of the panelists said more of quantity surveyors services needed to be employed by governments in all tiers for effective implementation of capital project so as to avoid abandonment which has been a major bane to development in the nation.
