Priced at $500 million (approx. £350m), this 100,000 square-foot Bel Air mansion (twice the size of the White House) is set to become the most expensive ever built when it’s completed in 2017.

It’s being developed by American film producer and real estate developer Nile Niami in collaboration with architect Paul McClean. When finished, the estate will include five swimming pools (because who can cope with just one?) a Monaco-style casino, a 5,000-square-foot master bedroom, a two-storey waterfall, a nightclub with VIP access, a 40-seat cinema, a 30-car garage, jellyfish tank walls, and a four-lane bowling alley. It also comes complete with security “straight from the Death Star” and additional corridors so all the staff can get around.

“We’re trying to sell a lifestyle, a sense of how people imagine they would live,” says McClean.
