The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola said the Federal Government would spend N60.87billion on capital projects in the housing sector next year.

Fashola spoke why defending the 2020 Housing budget before the Senate Committee on Housing, Chaired by Senator Sam Egwu, in Abuja.

The minister also said the sum of N118,881,182.99 is for overheads while N4.418,829,837.00 is for personnel cost.

He said the capital vote would be spent on already prioritised projects in the 2020 budget proposals which include the completion of the construction of 1,155 blocks of 2,383 units of housing under the National Housing Programme in 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

He said part of the cash would also be used to complete the construction of ongoing Federal Secretariats in six states (Anambra, Bayelsa, Ekiti, Nasarawa, Osun and Zamfara).

Others include the “Design and installation of solar power PV Microgrid System and Energy Retrofitting of the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing Headquarters Mabushi Abuja.
