The 5th National Council on Lands, Housing and Urban Development will hold this week in Ilorin.
This year’s edition with the theme: “Building Adequate Capacity of Professionals, Artisans and Tradesmen in the Built Environment,” would focus on enhancing and encouraging capacity building of professionals across all levels to meet the challenges of the time in the sector, and ensure compliance with building regulations and sustained development of towns and cities, said a statement from the council.
The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, said in the statement that the council was driven by the robust convictions and relentless zeal of the present administration to deploy available resources into the infrastructure sector of the economy, including housing, to place Nigeria back on the path of continuous growth, job creation and sustainable development.
The statement added that participants were expected to network on pertinent issues to come up with a common position for a productive outcome.
“Commissioners of lands, housing and urban development in the 36 states of the federation and the FCT, stakeholders in the built industry, general managers of housing corporations, surveyors-general of states and professional/regulatory agencies will be attending the council,” said the statement
