The management of Property Insider Media Limited, owners of Property Insider Newspapers has appointed Mr. Victor Adekunle Alonge as the Editorial Board Chairman.

Alonge would be providing direction for the editorial content of the newspaper. He will also meet regularly with the staff to discuss the latest news and opinion trends and discuss what the newspaper should say on a range of issues.

He holds B.Sc. Hons Degree in Estate Management from both Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Nigeria and the University of Reading U.K. He also holds M.Sc. Degree in Property Asset Management (Investment & Finance) from Herriot Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland UK, Legal Experience Training Advanced Professional Award in Expert Witness Evidence (Masters level) BTEC, a Practitioner’s Certificate in Project Management and a PGD (Journalism) from Times Journalism Institute, Lagos.

Alonge’s professional career started at Alafia & Co. (Estate Surveyors & Valuers) in Lagos in 1989. He was a property correspondent with Daily Times in the early 90s and later edited and published landmark real estate and construction periodicals including, Housing News, Construction Industry Annual and The Nigerian Building Industry Directory. He was also, at the time, the producer and presenter of the then popular “Housing Time” radio programme on Ray Power FM radio station.

Alonge later joined the London Borough of Ealing, London, as a Valuation Officer in 1998, from where joined the professional team at Willmotts Chartered Surveyors in Central London, U.K. in 1999 as a Valuation Surveyor. He distinguished himself professionally, rising to Associate Director in the company in 2002, before becoming its first black Executive Director with responsibility for Professional and Investment Services 2003. He voluntarily left the company in 2006 and returned to Nigeria to set up in private practice.

Alonge is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (FNIVS), a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS), Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb), a Registered Surveyor & Valuer (RSV), and Member Institute of Directors (MIoD).

Alonge was a Member of the Nigeria’s Vision 20:2020 Committee. He was a National Council Member, Chairman, Land Administration & Land Information System Faculty, Member Professional Practice Committee, and Chairman AMCON Special Committee, all of The Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors & Valuers (NIESV). He is presently a member of the Membership Committee of NIESV.

A chartered valuation surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer, Alonge is currently the Senior Partner of Nelson Thorpe Alonge, a firm of Estate Surveyors and Valuers and the CEO of Willows projects Limited – a multi disciplinary property development and project Management Consultancy Company. He was a non executive director of Penman Pensions Limited – a PENCOM licensed pension fund administrator (PFA) as well as Director of other companies both in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. He is the Vice Chairman of the Institute of Directors Nigeria, Abuja.

Alonge, a seasoned ticket holder of Manchester United Football Club enjoys football, writing, traveling and reading.
