In fulfilment of its promise to provide affordable housing for the citizens of Ogun State, the Ministry of Housing has handed-over keys and documents to 300 subscribers at the Prince Court Estate, Kobape in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.

Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi revealed this during an inspection tour of the site allocated for the construction of phase 3 of Prince Court Estate Kobape, saying the houses were two-bedroom expandable bungalows.

Omoniyi stated that prompt delivery of quality housing projects was paramount to the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration, adding that the houses were of good standard and lowest in price compared to what was obtainable in the housing industry.

According to him “I can assure you that this is coming even much better than what we had before, we are improving on the delivery of our services. You know the present government is known for providing quality and efficient service delivery”.

He implored applicants who were yet to receive allocation letters in phases 1 and 2 of the estates to be patient, as the government was making effort to deliver phase 3 soon.

While expressing satisfaction with the work done at the site, the Commissioner said the government would engage 10,000 State-based artisans through direct labour to create jobs and boost the living standard of the people for socio-economic development of the State, which is the hallmark of the present administration.

In a related development, the Ogun State Government said it will continue to encourage private developers willing to partner with the present administration through a friendly housing policy.

Omoniyi dropped the hint in Abeokuta, when he received a team from the Pelican Valley Estate, led by its Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Babatunde Adeyemo, saying the contributions of private developers in the delivery of housing projects could not be underestimated.

The Commissioner noted that the adoption of the Foreclosure Law employed by the government was to protect the genuine investors that want to venture into the mortgage business and to make the construction of housing projects easy.

He expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the management of Pelican Valley Estate on the manner it has been handling the building business, acknowledging the organisation as a fast-growing real estate developer based on his achievements in a very short time.

“Let me congratulate and appreciate you. Going through your biography, I can see you’re a trained journalist, now into building business, and you’re not just doing it, but have achieved tremendously in the business within the short period”, Jagunmolu noted.

In his remark, Adeyemo appreciated the State government through the Ministry of Housing for its giant strides in the housing sector, saying the company has been complementing the present administration’s efforts at solving the challenge of the housing deficit.

He commended the State government on the provision of infrastructural amenities, urging it to facilitate a road network along Kobape/Abeokuta axis to serve as an alternative route.
